Sibiu: Expoziția Goya și Dali, Blestemul Războiului, 24 iunie – 30 iulie 2022

În premieră la Sibiu vor fi expuse gravuri realizate de artistul spaniol Francisco Goya.

Gravurile lui Goya suscită interesul cunoscătorilor dar și al celor care le văd pentru prima dată, atât prin valoare artistică, calitățile tehnice, dar și prin mesajul moral transmis, cel mai cunoscut fiind Somnul rațiunii naște monștri. Prin opera sa, Goya ne arată că arta trebuie să se ridice împotriva erorilor și viciilor omenești. Alături de gravurile lui Goya din temele Tauromaquia, Dezastrele Războiului și Capricii vor fi expuse și lucrări realizate de Dali inspirate din lucrările lui Goya, ce aparțin colecționarului George Șerban. Salvador Dali a fost impresionat de opera compatriotului său, astfel că a decis să interpreteze celebra serie a Capriciilor, supunând fiecare lucrare la elemente artistice specifice Dali.

Opera lui Goya, poate la fel de actuală ca în vremea sa, a fascinat întotdeauna generațiile. Obiceiurile ilustrate și cruzimea omnipreznetă, combinate cu abuzul unor pături sociale, evocă în continuare emoții puternice vizitatorului.

Goya’s engravings spark the interest of connoisseurs but also of those who get to see them for the first time, both by means of their artistic value and technical qualities, and by means of the moral message they carry, the best known one being The sleep of reason births monsters. By means of his work, Goya shows us that art needs to stand up to the world’s horrors and against human vice. Alongside Goya’s engravings belonging to the themes of Tauromaquia, The Disasters of War and the Caprices, the exhibition will also feature works by Dali inspired by Goya, from the private collection of George Șerban. Salvador Dali was impressed by the masterpieces of his compatriot, thus he decided to interpret the famous series of the Caprices conveying the special artistic touch of Dali to each and every one of them.

Goya’s work can speak to us clearly nowadays, as it did during the time it was created in, having fascinated generation upon generation. The habits exposed and the omnipresent cruelty, combined with the abuse perpetrated against certain social classes, continue to stir powerful emotions in any viewer.
