Sibiu: Expoziția „The fading story of chimera”, 6 – 29 mai 2022

Prof. univ. dr. Kudor István Duka și asist. univ. dr. Cristian Lăpușan, din cadrul Universității de Artă și Design Cluj-Napoca, aduc în atenția dumneavoastră proiectul intitulat „The fading story of chimera” al cărui concept constă în abordarea figurii umane/portretul din două perspective artistice diferite. Figura umană capătă semnificații simbolice în lucrările artistului Kudor István Duka, fiind caracterizată de expresionismul gestului pictural etalat pe suprafețe generoase într-o serie de lucrări ce surprind bogăția tehnicilor picturale ce i-au configurat în timp viziunea personală asupra portretului. Într-o variație de dimensiuni, în cunoscuta tehnică a picturii în ulei pe pânză, Cristian Lăpușan se axează pe redarea realistă a figurilor umane, a materialităților și texturilor, aprofundând pictural scenografia universului personal populat cu portrete reale a celor în mijlocul cărora trăiește. Două viziuni artistice diferite, dar nu și antagonice, vă invită așadar la un dialog despre posibilitățile de reprezentare a figurii umane „ca măsură a tuturor lucrurilor”.

University professor PhD. Kudor István Duka and Assistant PhD. Cristian Lăpușan, from the University of Art and Design Cluj-Napoca, propose to us the project entitled „The fading story of chimera”. Their exhibition is based on depicting the human figure/portrait, from two different artistic perspectives. Human figure acquires symbolic meanings in a series of paintings signed by Kudor István Duka, works that are mainly characterized by the expressionism of gestural abstraction, showing a large range of techniques that shaped his personal vision of the portrait. Using canvases of variable sizes and the well-known techniques of easel painting, Cristian Lăpușan focuses on the realistic rendering of human figures, materials and textures, depicting sceneries of his personal universe where are to be seen portraits of those among he lives. This two artistic visions – different, but not antagonistic – are the plot for ”The fading story of chimera”. We hope it will trigger your curiosity and artistic taste for the possibilities of representing the human figure „as a measure of all things”.
